Working with hundreds if thousands of records can bring Excel to a screeching halt, especially when a spreadsheet is burdened with complex formulas. Whenever I don’t care about the possibility of recovering data, I force quit Excel using a desktop batch file rather than pressing ‘CTRL+ALT+DELETE’ and waiting on the blue spinning wheel of death! For those of us who work with large Excel data sets, this can really save time.

Step 1.

Open Notepad and paste the following text

Taskkill /IM Excel.Exe /f

Step 2.

Save the file to your desktop with the extension .BAT at the end.

Step 2 Save

Step 3.

Double click your new desktop icon anytime you want to quick Excel with lightning speed, but don’t care about recovering the content.
